TEA Volume 15 Release - Jan 3, 2012

We are thrilled and excited to let everyone know that TEA Volume 15 has officially been released on January 3, 2012. Happy New Year!

TEA Volume 15 is an independent compilation of work by 20 Canadian artists and members of the music industry. This compilation explores the newest and best in Canadian alternative music with one of the new year’s most daring and diverse compilations (rock, pop, singer / songwriter, mainstream, progressive, blues, country, jazz, folk, acoustic and ambient)

One of the new tricks to confuse artists is "digital distribution" or "digital servicing". This is a service where the following is supposed to happen. You pay a small fee to have your audio sent to radio stations, then the person at the station listens to your track, plays it, then the service then tells you who played it. The problem is, it's very misleading.

First of all you have to understand the difference between "servicing"  radio and "promoting" to radio. Promoting to radio means you have a diologue / conversation with the person at the radio station and this requires phone calls and emails...

We Will Miss You

We are very saddened to hear that Randall Cousins has recently passed away. Randall loved independent music and especially TEA artists. He has played so many TEA artists over the years and always inquired about the artists on our many compilations. His radio show Brave New Frontiers was listened to by many music lovers and was on the air for a very long time. Randall's love and appreciation for music and especially independent artists will be greatly missed. He is a true star that shone light into the hearts of many. Thank you Randall and we will miss you so much.

COUSINS, Randall Douglas Passed away at the Brampton Civic Hospital on January 15, 2011 at the age of 58 after a short battle with cancer. Loving father to his three sons, Cameron (Jennifer), Chandler, and Douglas, and his grandson Cage. Will also be sadly missed by his mother Jean and his brother Craig (Beatrice) and sisters Nancy and Marlene. Predeceased by his father Douglas. Randall followed the path of his love for music. Recently retired from 10 years of service with Chrysler. Fondly remembered by his nieces and nephews. A Celebration of Life will take place at Meadowlands Church of the Salvation Army, 187 Stone Church Road, Ancaster on Friday, January 28 at 2 p.m. Visitation at 1 p.m. Cremation has taken place. In lieu of flowers, donations to cancer research or charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family.

Environmentalist David Suzuki’s Discovery Channel Special, ‘AN EVENING WITH THE NEW CENTURIONS’, is an engaging 90-minute special about our global future and the steps needed to repair years of neglect. It premiers Saturday, April 17 at 7 p.m. Central/5 p.m. PT on Discovery HD. Classic Hollywood TV Producer Bernie Rothman creates the Discovery Channel Special. Manitoba’s own Katelyn Dawn shines with a glamorous performance opening the show!

Katelyn Dawn, who recently moved to Toronto to pursue a music career following Canadian Idol spent some time in Los Angeles, California filming the upcoming Discovery Channel show, which was filmed at the Canadian Consul General’s Residence. "It was an honor to perform in front of so many people who are passionate about our environment, something I also care very deeply about."

This discovery channel special airs on the eve of Katelyn’s upcoming self-titled album release, which has just been pre-released on her website and will soon be available on iTunes and other record and online stores across the country.

TEA Volume 14 was released to radio, print, film and internet media contacts on Thursday January 14, 2010. How can you  help spread the awareness?

1)  Spread the word about TEA V 14 to any media contacts you may know from past successes or networking. If they are interested in copies of TEA V 14 when completed, please let us know and we will send them a copy.

2)  Post info on your website regarding TEA V 14. A small pic of the comp with a link can help bring more awareness. You can always add TEA V 14 to your discography as well to keep people informed of all your releases.

3)  Please link to our website if at all possible. It is always a good idea to link up with community, contacts and connections.

4)  Add yourself to the TEA myspace, TEAwitter and TEAbook social networking websites if you haven't done so already.

5)  Use the power of your social networking sites to spread awareness of this release.
